Background Checks in Florida: Employment, Tenant and Personal Screening

“Background check” means three different things in Florida, and the right one depends on why you are asking. The state runs its own checks for regulated jobs. Employers and landlords need a regulated screening report from a consumer reporting agency, with the applicant’s written consent. Attorneys, deal teams and private clients who need verified facts on a person for a case, a transaction or a personal decision need an investigator’s background report — the licensed-agency work this site arranges. This page says which route is which, what each one returns, and what drives the cost. Risk Intell Group does not offer employment, tenant, credit or insurance screening; the sections below say where those come from.

Who hires us

  • Attorneys and deal teams who need verified facts on a person
  • Private clients checking a prospective business partner or a person entering their life
  • Employers and landlords working out which regulated report they need, and from whom
  • Anyone told to get a Level 2 or FDLE check and unsure where it comes from

What's included

  • Route 1 — the state’s checks: the FDLE name-based check and the Level 2 fingerprint check for healthcare, childcare, schools and similar regulated roles, ordered through the state or the hiring body, never through an investigator
  • Route 2 — employment and tenant screening: a regulated consumer report from a consumer reporting agency, with the applicant’s written consent and a lawful purpose — not offered here
  • Route 3 — the investigator’s background report: criminal and civil index searches, property, corporate filings, liens, judgments and associates, verified by a licensed investigator — the Comprehensive Intelligence Dossier
  • A plain answer at intake on which route fits your reason for asking
  • Investigative work product only — never used for hiring, tenancy, credit or insurance decisions

How engagement works

Tell the intake specialist why you need the check. If it is an investigative or personal case, the licensed agency scopes it; if it is a hiring or tenancy decision, you are pointed to the right regulated route rather than sold the wrong report.
